DC Motor Options |
Iwaki America offers 12, 24 and 48 volt DC motors, brushed or brushless, for all of our WMD-15 to WMD-100 pumps. DC motors typically run cooler than AC motors. They are generally smaller than AC motors offering designers the ability to reduce space requirements. They do not have brushes to perform the commutation and require the use of a controller. DC motors can be speed controlled to maximize pump performance to meet specific system requirements. Additional Impellers Available |
Iwaki America offers specialized impeller designs that provide specific performance curve shapes. Our 6Z, 20Z, 30Z and 70Z are prime examples showing low flow high discharge pressure curve shapes.
For OEM applications we will design an impeller to meet a specific duty point and curve shape. These impellers offer solutions for specific applications that require a flat curve vs.a steep curve and for those applications where the available power for the motor is limited. By designing an application specific impeller we may be able to also offer a smaller package product where space is limited.

- High Efficiencies - Extraordinarily high efficiencies make WMD & MD the clear choice in almost every process, recirculation or transfer application.
- Choose standard alumina ceramic bearing materials and polypropylene, or optional SiC (silicon carbide) and ETFE (fluoropolymer) for your most aggressive or highest purity requirement.
- Do you require compact, quiet, highly efficient pumps for your Laser, Chiller or Blood Analyzer Applications? Iwaki America pumps are compact, offer higher pressure, AND last longer than any traditional offerings.
- Motor Matching - Offering more motor/pump configurations than any other manufacturer easily allows tailored pump applications. Premium, high efficiency motors are used throughout the line. Totally enclosed, permanent split capacitor motors are compact, cool and economical. Tolerance to voltage variation without overheating and 50/60 Hz operation allows the product to be used in a worldwide market. PSC or shaded pole AC motors are standard. Brushed and brushless motors are available for DC applications.
