Job Title:  Outside Sales Engineer - Iwaki America.

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for the sales and technical support of Iwaki chemical transfer sealless pumps.  Position requires 50% +travel typically with independent distribution salespeople in a national geography.  The ability to drive incremental sales through joint customer visits, strong application assistance and relationship selling is key. 

Essential Functions:

  • Identify sales opportunities by determining customer requirements; defining the market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships
  • Train distributor salespeople on Iwaki products, markets and competition and assist in developing application solutions as required.
  • Integrate and promote multiple value added technologies in response to existing and emerging market opportunities
  • Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
  • Develop and maintain positive community relations/image through involvement in national trade organizations
  • Provide on-site training and installation assistance as needed
  • Report sales activity through “Sales Force” CRM software.
  • Work with management to develop sales strategies to achieve sales targets

Qualifications:

  • AS or BS in Engineering or Business/Marketing with proven technical competence. BSME preferred
  • Fluid process experience a plus
  • Above average mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to interact with a diverse customer base.
  • Familiar with the intricacies of industrial sales channels, distributors and sales representatives
  • Demonstrated competencies: development and identification of major customers, sales planning, goal development, management of market and product specific sales channels, product pricing and quotation techniques
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups
  • Must be self-starter, high energy, customer oriented and a team player
  • Has recognizable integrity, earns the respect of others.
  • Possesses a sense of humor and enjoyment about work.
  • Must be able to read and analyze technical drawings
  • A home office may be required
